It is my pleasure to once again announce registration forthe 4th Latino/Multicultural Student College Fair and LeadershipConference. This year’s event will be held on Friday, October 24that the Thomas and King Leadership and Conference Center at Georgetown College. On behalf of Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Kentucky StateUniversity, Georgetown College and the Kentucky College Access Network, we hopethat you may be able to attend.
This event will feature college and university representatives from all state post-secondary institutions as well as others from the Midwest and Southeast. In addition to the expanded fair exhibits, Chicano Civil Rights icons Sylvia Mendez and Bobby Verdugo will be there to speak to the students. We will also have “Promesa” mentors on hand to help students complete a college preparedness guide called “Mi Camino a la Universidad.”
It is our hope to inspire and encourage our students. For this reason, we have created a series of interactive and informative workshops that will help students understand college, learn about leadership, and be motivated to take pride in their heritage and culture.
If you have any questions concerning the college fair please feel free to contact me at 859-246-6436 or via email at erin.howard@kctcs.edu. To reserve your spot please complete the application included in the information packet (link below). As always there is no cost for students to attend the college fair, but we do ask that you reserve your spot.
