The inaugural statewide network meeting took place in Louisville, Kentucky on July 23rd 2008. Representatives from organizations that advocate and serve the growing Latino community were present to discuss the creation of a new statewide network. The purpose of the meeting was to facilitate new contacts, information- and strategy-sharing, and set the stage for a statewide network or coalition of organizations working toward social justice by supporting the needs, advancing the strengths, and providing a voice for the growing and diverse Hispanic/ Latino communities in Kentucky.
